American Idol - Phoenix & Kansas City

Reigning champion David Cook

Wow!

American Idol premiered its first episode yesterday night in Singapore, and I've got to say
THANK YOU THANK YOU Star World, for putting the show on Primetime 8PM instead of 10PM like the stupid free-to-air channel I wont mention (channel f-i-v-e).

Anyway, I was interested in how different the Singapore-aired episodes of American Idol to the US-aired and was quite upset when I discovered that they've cut the best parts out because of copyright issues - can't Star World/Mediacorp clear them out so people can watch the full version of the show?!

But I watched the American version online (and downloaded them), so I'm alright. One thing that I've been interested in is how the new judge, Kara DioGuardi (Cair-a) would be, and I've got to say..she's good! And she can sing! Woohoo!

I was also pleasantly surprised with the intro montage with all the past Idols and winners - nearly made me tear up! LOL. Also, loved the fact that they're using their current successful alums - Carrie Underwood and David Cook, to up the 'cool' factor of the show.

I've posted my favourites here, but unfortunately I haven't found front-runners of the show yet. Right now, I'm rooting for Alex, Deanna, Anoop, and Asa. Woohoo!

Last night was a trip to the past

NOSTALGIC.

Huaaaaaa...

I finally got a chance to meet Cinta, Raga, Jody after a few weeks of yours truly being locked in the house in order to study for Business Law and Marketing. Now that I'm in term four and no longer studying those two killer subjects, I've allowed myself to be brought out again. HAHA.

Anyway, we all met at HMV where I bought The Ting Tings' deluxe CD and waited for Jody and Cinta to come (I was with Raga by then hee). After that, we spent a few minutes arguing whether The Heeren really has a basement - turns out they just built it and then spent time arguing which bus to take to Marina Square.

When we got to Marina Square, we decided to have something to eat and we all went to Long John's because Cinta was hungry (haha). So I ended up buying All about Potatoes or somethin' and shared with THREE! people - Raga and Jody didn't buy anything. LOL.

After Cinta finished eating, Jody suddenly said that he wanted to eat Burger King, so we went next door and he bought a burger (duh) and onion rings (I think - can't remember). Whilst waiting for Jody to finish up, Raga said that we should do a Culinary Marathon - eating at every foodstore in Marina Square hahaha. It didn't happen, don't worry. lol.

Since it was 7.15 by then, we decided to head down to Esplanade Outdoor Theater, where Cinta and Jody's ex-schoolmate was having a gig and we waited like 10 minutes for the show (For This Cycle) to start.

Overall, it was really good! I'm surprised that he's around MY age - cos he's really talented. He's got a Myspace but the songs he performed last night are not on Myspace yet, I think. But check him out, I'm impressed!
